D-Wreck from Southern California is a Glass artist who definitely shows his dark side. In his teenage years he found his identity through the heavy metal, thrash metal and punk rock subcultures. From this past comes the fact that his creations turn the hippie asceticism of pipe making on its head, helping to push the boundaries of the glass community into uncharted territory with uncouth artistic creations. Pentagrams and devil horns, busty burlesque vixens and the mark of the beast adorn his works.This is an expression of what Dwreck does to glass culture. He makes it dangerous; we step out of our comfort zone and remember our inevitable end.When asked if there is anything in the world that he sees as light, he replied that the fire in the Bowl of Rig is the light in the darkness.The Devil's Advocate is 37 inches tall and covered with skulls that are partially sandblasted over black.On the back of this rig is a female figure with the numbers 666 sandblasted on her stomach, above her is a marble with the face of a demonic skull.When facing your demons, do so best after a hit from this rig.This rig comes with a fixed bowl. Tim Carruthers aka "Ease" is originally from Ithica, New York but has spent the last 15 years in Seattle, Washington blowing glass with the best of the best. Ease pioneered many different techniques of borosilicate glass pipes including Graal sandblasting, "tribal" wigwags, dicro work and general form and design. Last but not least, he is known for his stunning fumed work. Fumed glass is very special because small amounts of silver or gold are used in the glass blowing process. The metals are vaporized in the flame, which then covers the glass with a layer of vaporized molecules. This layer is covered again with another layer of clear glass for protection. Ease's smoked glass includes a variety of designs. Depending on the incidence of light, the colors of the rig may also appear to change! Many of the fume techniques that Ease has mastered over the years can be seen in this gorgeous rig. Among them are several types of fume lines, fumicellos, and both a Hollow Fume Honeycomb and a Honeycomb Implosion!
