Tim Carruthers aka "Ease" is originally from Ithica, New York but has spent the last 15 years in Seattle, Washington blowing glass with the best of the best. Ease pioneered many different techniques of borosilicate glass pipes including Graal sandblasting, "tribal" wigwags, dicro work and general form and design. Last but not least, he is known for his stunning fumed work.
Fumed glass is very special because small amounts of silver or gold are used in the glass blowing process. The metals are vaporized in the flame, which then covers the glass with a layer of vaporized molecules. This layer is covered again with another layer of clear glass for protection.
Ease's smoked glass includes a variety of designs. Depending on the incidence of light, the colors of the rig may also appear to change!
Many of the fume techniques that Ease has mastered over the years can be seen in this gorgeous rig. Among them are several types of fume lines, fumicellos, and both a Hollow Fume Honeycomb and a Honeycomb Implosion!
