Product information "Reflections | Praise of Looking & Doing and Leaving"
The natural philosophy and mystical worldview of Albert Hofmann. In Praise of Looking / Doing and Leaving in Set.
Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Albert Hofmann, born Jan. 11, 1906, was a natural product chemist at Sandoz, in whose research laboratories he discovered the chemical structure (1938) and psychedelic effects (1943) of LSD, as well as psilocybin and psilocin. Over 120 original papers document his unusual scientific activities. His outstanding achievements were honored with many honorary doctorates and other academic honors. Among his most important publications are LSD-mein Sorgenkind and Einsichten-Ausblicke. His collaborative works with Richard E. Schultes (Plants of the Gods) and Gordon Wasson (The Road to Eleusis) are among the most important works in modern ethnopharmacology. In 2006 he was gloriously in the light of the world public: on the occasion of his 100th birthday, the symposium 'LSD - Problem Child and Miracle Drug' took place in Basel from January 13 to 15, 2006. Albert Hofmann is undoubtedly one of the great exceptions among researchers. For him, science was always just a tool to get to know the secret of creation better. The discovery of LSD made him known far beyond the boundaries of his science and led him to thoughts that in their simplicity and depth reveal a timeless validity. Albert Hofmann died peacefully at home on April 29, 2008, at the age of 102, as a result of a heart attack.
